Executive Summary

LDEQ Facility ID Number 27823

Air Liquide America, Plaquemine, LA ASU, has operated on this 24 acre site continuously since 1977. The facility has four air separation units that produce pure oxygen, nitrogen and argon for use in industrial, medical, food, and health care industries. Ammonia is used to purify the argon. One 15000 gallon ammonia tank supplies two ammonia disassociator units at this location. There have been no releases from this system that have breeched the plant boundaries. In addition to training on our own emergency action plan, we participate in the Iberville Parish LEPC and CAER organizations.
